Why should you go to church?
To get away from it all of course! It is so relaxing to be around
people
who really love God. It is so refreshing to hear what
people who are getting better and better acquainted with God have
to say to each other. It is so energizing to hear about the
wonderful things God is doing in the lives of real people.
The Redeeming Light Ministries was born from a desire to have a
place where the God-chasers could gather
to encourage each other.
When Jesus was here people gathered wherever He was just to be
around Him, just to listen
to the wonderful things He had to say.
Things haven't changed. Hebrews 13:8 tells us that Jesus Christ is
the same,
yesterday, today and forever. Jesus was fascinating
2,000 years ago and He is fascinating today. The only difference
is
that He has taken up residence in individual people who,
empowered to experience God by the Holy Spirit, are the Body
of
Christ in the earth. Amazing.
Everyone, every individual, in the Body of Christ has a ministry.
The Bible tells us in Romans 12 that
we have many members in one
Body and all members have not the same office. Each one is
different. At the Redeeming
Light do not plan to be a hearer only.
Don't come and expect to sit comfortably and be entertained.
Instead come full
of the Holy Spirit, ready to distribute to the
necessity of the saints. Get prayed up and be ready to speak a
word
in season. Let the Holy Spirit use you to minister to the
Body and allow the Holy Spirit to use others to minister to
you.
If you are the kind of person who likes to be handed a program as
you come in the church door, expect to be
disappointed. Instead,
open your heart to the possibility that the person sitting next to
you has been
sent by God to fulfill a need in your life and you
likewise have been anointed to bring healing and help to those
around
you.
I was reading an article the other day about the liver. The liver
is an amazing organ. It not only contributes
digestive juices, but
liver cells have a lot of smooth endoplasmic reticulum which is a
cell organelle that plays
a major role in detoxifying the body. In
other words, harmful poisons that would otherwise destroy the
body, are removed
by liver cells.
Think about the people in your life who have
helped you get rid of poisons like unbelief and unforgiveness
that
can and will harm you if not dealt with. God has anointed His Body
to heal itself and you are a vital part of
that. When you go to
church do you see the sheep muzzled? Does the pastor do all the
ministering and do the musicians
do all the praising?
At the Redeeming Light come ready to open your heart and let the
love of God flow to those around
you.
Have you ever been bored in church? It is boring to sit on the
sidelines all the time. Things get interesting
when you jump up
and become a player in the game. Whether you met God for the first
time yesterday, or if you have
been knowing God for 50 years, the
same Holy Spirit works through all believers and the whole picture
can only be
assembled when all participate. If you haven't met God
yet, well, you must be lonely for Him and He is certainly lonely
for you. Whatever your situation, be assured that you are more
than welcome at the Redeeming Light anytime.
